The figure shows the dichotomy between the public health sector and the traditional sector (midwives), as well as external factors (‘outer setting’) identified at the local level, on which our research focused. *USAC is Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, UVG is Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and DNDi is Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative.
